Criteria for Preparing Merit List in the Selection of Railway New Vacancy 2024
Taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation [with minimum 50% Aggregate Marks] and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.
Medical Examination for Railway New Vacancy 2024
- Selected candidates shall have to bring Medical Certificate at the time of document verification in the prescribed format as per apprentices act, 1961 and para 4 of apprenticeship rules, 1992 (as amended from time to time).
- The medical certificate should be signed by Government Authorized Doctor (Gaz.), not below the rank of Asst. surgeon of Central / State Government Hospital in terms railway board’s letter no E(MPP)/2009/6/14 dated 04.12.2018

The selected candidates shall be engaged in the unit of their choice subject to the extent of vacancies and they may have to be engaged in other units coming under the jurisdiction if so warranted by the Administrative Requirement.
Special Instructions for Students Regarding Railway New Vacancy 2024 before applying application Form
- The selected ITI/Non-ITI (Freshers) candidates have to execute a contract of apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act- 1961 and if such candidate is minor his guardian can execute the prescribed contract as per the Guidelines of Regional Directorate Of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Guindy/ Chennai.
- The candidate has to upload all his/her documents such as SSLC Mark Sheet, NCVT/SCVT Certificate, Community Certificate, Certificate in case of EWS and Medical Certificate in the portal separately in the prescribed format enclosed as annexures while applying for apprenticeship in railways.
- Candidates shall not be permitted to start apprenticeship without Apprentice Registration Number, ensure to enter the details while generating apprentice registration number as the same will reflect in the final certificate issued by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship on Course Completion.
- There is NO GUARANTEE OF EMPLOYMENT and their contract of apprenticeship will be terminated on completion training.
- All communication from the Administration will be sent by E-mail only and candidates will be called for Certificate Verification Purpose/Selected/Stand-By list which will be uploaded in Southern Railway Website. Candidates should maintain the same e-mail ID till the selection is completed and the administration will not be responsible for non-receipt of communication due to change in e-mail ID. Frequent monitoring of Email/Visiting Southern Railway Website is the sole responsibility of the candidates.
- Name of the candidate, Date of birth and Father’s Name should be same in SSLC Mark sheet, ITI Mark Sheet, Community Certificate, Bank Pass book, AADHAAR and PAN.
- If there is any mismatch in the above, the same may be rectified immediately.
Important Instructions for Students Regarding Railway Recruitment 2024 Sarkari Paise Wala
- The decision of the railway administration in all matters relating to Eligibility, Acceptance or Rejection of the applications and mode of selection shall be final.
- Imparting training in railway will not confer any right to the candidates for their absorption in railway after successful completion of training
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature and no correspondence will be entertained in the matter.
- Candidature of the candidate shall be cancelled if he/she fails to produce the required Original Testimonials for verification or any other discrepancy noticed.
- Before applying, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility and other criteria. If erroneously engaged, such candidates shall be summarily dismissed without notice at any stage.

- No Daily Allowance/ Conveyance Allowance or Travelling Allowance will be paid to the candidates called for Document Verification.
- No boarding or lodging will be provided to the candidates on reporting and for the entire apprenticeship on selection. Candidate has to manage their own accommodation for the entire apprenticeship period.
- Candidates need not send any application printouts or certificates or copies to office by Post/E-Mail/FAX by hand. The candidature of the candidates will be considered only on the strength of the information furnished in the ONLINE application. However, they are to bring all the Original Certificates and should produce while verifying their candidature at verification stage.
- After selection for engagement, request of candidate to change the division/unit will not be entertained.
